Duck canvas commonly forms the substance of our bags and garments. The tightly woven cotton yarns produce an incredibly durable fabric that’s trusted for its natural resistance to weather and abrasion. Constructed with a super soft 12 oz. duck canvas from Mt. Vernon Mills, our work shirt provides the uncompromising performance and protection demanded by the task at hand.
This season, we’re offering our work shirt in black and olive. Raw copper snaps reinforced by leather washers are set at the placket, cuffs and right breast pocket. All stress points are bar tacked and each seam is flat felled and double needle chain stitched with runoff detail on the sides.
This canvas requires little care, but can be spot cleaned as needed with a damp cloth. If it really needs a wash, you can hand wash the garment in a cold water bath using a mild detergent, then hang to dry. Duck canvas is 100% cotton, so it will shrink when washed. We recommend stretching out the garment while it’s still wet to decrease shrinkage, this helps to stretch the cotton fibers back out. Put one hand on the armpit seam and one hand at the bottom of the jacket and give it a stretch. Repeat this all the way around the garment, then hang dry.
