Warmer months spent by the water carried our inspiration for the Humboldt Tote, handcrafted with a 13 oz indigo stripe canvas from Cone Mills. Accented with natural veg-tanned Wickett & Craig bridle leather handles, the tote features a removable 36 inch long shoulder strap furnished with solid brass hardware and a snap-closure external pocket.
This canvas requires little care, but can be spot cleaned as needed with a damp cloth. If it really needs a wash, you can hand wash the garment in a cold water bath using a mild detergent, then hang to dry. Duck canvas is 100% cotton, so it will shrink when washed. We recommend stretching out the garment while it’s still wet to decrease shrinkage, this helps to stretch the cotton fibers back out. Put one hand on the armpit seam and one hand at the bottom of the jacket and give it a stretch. Repeat this all the way around the garment, then hang dry.
